Thoughts on Offensiveness

I’m an offensive mother fucker. That much is true. I just pissed off my future sister-in-law like an hour ago. Wasn’t intentional. I’m probably gonna offend a bunch of people with this post too. Fuck it.

I’m not sorry.

This is a blog so I’m limited in keystrokes. Here’s what I’m saying, what I’ve always said; anything offensive to anyone is a) your problem and, b) more importantly, the systematic, intentional devaluation of society in general. I’ll leave it to your imagination what started that trend.

‘Offensive’, by definition, is subjective; that in and of itself should be enough for any thinking person to reject efforts to define it objectively. Trash, lyric…I don’t give a fuck. How’s that. More than that, I don’t care.

That said, permit me to tell you that one of the great things about this Country used to be that you could leave any situation you deemed offensive and walk, talk or meander out of the way.

Or, you could punch that bastard in the face. Either way, both offer us the only way to cultural evolution: Choice. Some moron standing on the sidelines saying ‘hey, no, I have a better way’…has gotten us to where we are today.

When the Communists at the ACLU get involved it’s inevitably and by design an affront to cultural evolution. A piece of shit built on a piece of shit is only a bigger piece of shit.

What’s offensive? I haven’t the foggiest idea. What shouldn’t be offensive? Pretty much everything that is today: Race, national origin, sex, disability, color, off-color, being a mom, not being a mom, being called a mom, bla-dee-bla-bla-motha-fuckin-bla…

Everything. Seriously. Everything under the sun. Somebody, somewhere is gonna get pissed at something. You watch. It’ll happen.

This is how we evolve? Are you kidding me?

Look, all I’m saying is that a predictable by-product of Oppresivism (read: “progressivism”) is human conformity. There’s nothing organic about it.

I don’t know where we could be today because government got in the way. Way out of its bounds and way out of line.

What I do know is that we’d be whole hell of a lot better off if they’d get the fuck out.

Russ

She's really cute when she's mad at you.

Upon reflection of the last, hastily composed comment, I'd like to revise it to say: She's really cute either way. Although, I haven't seen her when she wasn't pissed at you so I don't have anything to compare to. I would wager though...

Cheers!

I'm offensive. I mean offenDED!

Reminds me of an old Bloom County strip about "offensesensitivity"....

Yeh I don't have a problem with someone being offended, but it just seems like every single time somebody, or some group, is, it leads to more legislation. That's a goddamn travesty.
