Recent Vacancy in Pennsylvania's 12th District
As my twitter friend and excellent blogger, Kill Truck, said…condolences. That’s about as much as I can muster for that jerk:
A Pentagon probe into the death of Iraqi civilians last November in the Iraqi city of Haditha will show that U.S. Marines “killed innocent civilians in cold blood,” a U.S. lawmaker said Wednesday.
That “lawmaker” was John Murtha. He deliberately slandered United States Marines, former brothers of his in the Corps, before a single shred of the Haditha story had hit the wires. As Jawa noted back in June of ‘08, six of the Marines charged were completely exonerated.
It’s God’s turn to judge John Murtha. I hope for his family’s sake he gets more of a fair shake than did the Marines he so callously condemned.
Good riddance to bad rubbish. Condolences to his family.

I think we may have been too harsh for Smitty:
Let us respectfully mourn the passing of a fellow American, and gently factor out his name, while we verbally club the abyssmal Progressive policies that some espouse, as with a Louisville slugger to a rabid dog.
While I disagree with wearing the kid gloves on “a fellow American” of Murtha’s lowness, I’ll give Smitty a pass because of the Louisville Slugger recovery line.
John Murtha may have been born here, but he’s not my “fellow American”. My Dad and my Grandfathers before him served too. They didn’t slander fellow soldiers to score the cheapest of cheap political points with the truly morally bankrupt in their party. For that he deserves no respite, even in death.

So, Murtha is dead at the age of 77 after he spent a lifetime trying to socialize everything and everybody. I hope he says helle to Karl Marx. I’ll not pretend to at least look like I care because I do not. And no, I won’t be pissing on his grave…that’s just retarded.
So now perhaps a real man or woman can get into the slot and perhaps LtC William Russell will get into the job.
This is a bad time for the Democrats and Murtha, and it couldn’t have happened to a better group of marxist-sociopaths.

Like I have said many times, condolences go out to his family and not the jerk. I turned Fox New off because the idiot Shep was giving Murtha and fond farewell. Moron.
Agreed, on all three counts, including that Shep is an idiot.
All I've said is that Murtha, or anyone else, does not deserve a pardon for his sins on earth after he's dead. I don't subscribe to that nonsense. I especially don't subscribe to it when the sinner was stalwart in defending his sins while alive.
Murtha does not deserve a pass now that he's gone for how he slandered his fellow Marines. He just doesn't.
