Hey...that Rahm Emanual Chap is Pretty Sharp
Well, at least insofar as he calls far-left moonbats “fucking retarded”:

President Barack Obama’s liberal backers have a long list of grievances. The Guantanamo Bay prison is still open. Health care hasn’t been transformed. And Wall Street banks are still paying huge bonuses.
But they are directing their anger less at Mr. Obama than at the man who works down the hall from him. Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, they say, is the prime obstacle to the changes they thought Mr. Obama’s election would bring.
The friction was laid bare in August when Mr. Emanuel showed up at a weekly strategy session featuring liberal groups and White House aides. Some attendees said they were planning to air ads attacking conservative Democrats who were balking at Mr. Obama’s health-care overhaul.
“F—ing retarded,” Mr. Emanuel scolded the group, according to several participants. He warned them not to alienate lawmakers whose votes would be needed on health care and other top legislative items.
The antipathy reflects deep dissatisfaction on the Democratic left with Mr. Obama’s first year in office, and represents a fracturing of the relationship between the president and the political base that mobilized to elect him. A little more than one year ago, Mr. Obama’s victory led some to predict an era of Democratic dominance.
The anger on the left shows that Mr. Obama is caught in an internal battle over both the course of his administration and the Democratic Party.
Wait…I thought it was us wacky teabaggers that were doing all the in-fighting. You mean the Democrats are having some family issues as well? Well color me…not surprised at all.
My only question is why did we just hear about this awesome soundbite from August? Actually more importantly, where’s the compassion for the disably-abled? Where is the outrage from the Special Olympics? Where’s the goddamn political correctness nutroots? Get mad!
I kid, of course, because far-left tin-hatters are retarded. He’s right though, isn’t he. It’s a lesson we can ill afford to learn the hard way. I’m mostly interested in this from the perspective that I hope our side learns, real fast, that while it is a truly wonderful thing to be running Conservatives all over the Country against establishment RINO’s in the primaries (and I for one would vote for any such Conservative over the RINO everyday), we cannot cut off our faces to spite our heads just so we can say “Don’t blame me, I voted for Bob Barr”. I’m ribbing Stacey, but read his piece there because he offers some prescient and relevant advice to the point I’m trying to make here in the context of the Rand Paul/Bill Johnson fight in Kentucky.
Let the left tear itself to pieces over their progressive/not-so-progressive flame war and we’ll literally clean house in November. Fight tooth and nail for your Conservative primary candidate with every ounce of your soul by all means, because I think we’re gonna win a bunch of those as well.
But when push comes to shove, we’re not going third party and everybody here knows it. We crashed the walls of a liberal Bastille in Massachusetts last week because we were all in it together.
We keep that strategy up, there’s no limit to how many seats we win back this year.

Well, well, well…look who apologized to the special olympics? (via HotAir)
Sarah, as usual, nails it:
Former Alaska Gov, Sarah Palin, who has a son with Down’s Syndrome, was offended by Emanuel’s reported remark, posting on her Facebook page: “Just as we’d be appalled if any public figure of Rahm’s stature ever used the ‘N-word’ or other such inappropriate language, Rahm’s slur on all God’s children with cognitive and developmental disabilities – and the people who love them – is unacceptable, and it’s heartbreaking.
“A patriot in North Andover, Massachusetts, notified me of Rahm’s ‘retarded” slam,’” Palin wrote. “I join this gentleman, who is the father of a beautiful child born with Down Syndrome, in asking why the Special Olympics, National Down Syndrome Society and other groups condemning Rahm’s degrading scolding have been completely ignored by the White House. No comment from his boss, the president?
“As my friend in North Andover says, ‘This isn’t about politics; it’s about decency. I am not speaking as a political figure but as a parent and as an everyday American wanting my child to grow up in a country free from mindless prejudice and discrimination, free from gratuitous insults of people who are ostensibly smart enough to know better… Have you no sense of decency, sir?’”
“Comment from his boss, the President”? Dude, Obama bowls like a kid in the special olympics by his own admission. Don’t hold your breath Sarah.
On the other hand, she should also know that she is talking about Rahm Emanuel here. Her question answers itself.

My man T puts the hammer down:
As someone who comments on all things political and some things just a heartbeat away from barely having life let alone substantive value, I have to tell you that this story – and the Harry Reid uses the N-word fiasco – are just about the most worthless pieces of “political” garbage that I have ever had to deliberate over writing about. They’re so stupid and so meaningless that I hate to allow myself to be sucked into the vacuum of questionably quasi-intellectual content; but when I see so many so worked up I just can’t help myself.
Come on down in the gutter with me T…it’s warm and there are rats the size of your head down here. It’s like you were in Tijuana…some goooood eatin’.

My man Scratch at MMBI disagrees with T at RR and finds Rahm’s remarks, or more accurately Rahm himself, to be a firable offense:
I agree with Palin. Fire him. Not because he said a stupid thing. Because he doesn’t care that it was offensive, he believes the rules they have written don’t apply to him, and he’s no doubt mad as hell that he was forced to fake an apology to people he probably really does look down on.
Also, he’s creepier than the liver-fluke man. That’s reason enough right there.

Oh there’s definitely a strong resemblance there.
Good find Scratch.
Oh, and fellas….how ‘bout a blog war!

Since I'm the one Stacy was talking about, did you happen to read the article he was being critical of? It's here.

Benjamin is with the Rand Paul campaign, btw. Read Benjamin's comments and then decide if this Catholic who values the 14th amendment to our Constitution should not be so angry about it. And yes, I WILL vote for the Democrat if Rand Paul wins in Kentucky.
Lisa,
I read your piece and you did a nice job. I am a lawyer, but I'll spare you the diatribes myself.
My only gripe with your conclusion is that your commitment to vote Democrat instead of a Rand Paul seems more like rage and not reason. If you're pro-life, how could you vote for a Democrat, especially after everything you've seen this past year. I admit I'm not fluent in Kentucky politics, so if in fact the Democrat is pro-life and that's your issue, then we won't settle anything here.
I've always said, and several times on this blog, that Ron Paul the elder needs to STFU about pretty much everything except economics. From what I know about the son, it seems to fit with him too.
But it's your conclusion to vote for the Democrat that simply makes no sense if you believe what you say. That's the Dede Scozzafava trap that killed Doug Hoffman's chances in NY-23, partially. I beg you not to fall into it.
Thanks a lot for the comment. I certainly meant no personal disrespect to you and was merely ribbing Stacey on his Bob Barr vote to make the point that we have a golden opportunity come November that, in my opinion, will be utterly squashed if there are many more like you who will vote Democratic if your guy loses a primary.
