When a Tax isn't a Tax.
I don't know what's worse, the 180 degree flip-flop on the virtue of the individual mandate or his lying about the fact that it's a tax on those who don't get health insurance.
He's done both so often in the last 8 months it's hard to keep track and increasingly difficult to analyze. He actually said Stephanopoulos was "stretching" because he used the dictionary to define 'tax'. I have to agree with the Washington Times; that's the first time I've ever heard the dictionary definition of a word called a 'stretch'.
Assuming for the moment that ObamaCare passes in some form and that it contains an individual mandate, I actually feel quite optimistic that for the first time a significant number of people will tell Obama and the IRS to stick it and not sign up.
Hell I'll volunteer to be the test case in federal court for the Constitutionality of such a 'mandate'.
I guess in the end the lesson for me is that this is who Obama is; a person who will say anything to anyone at anytime to get elected and then lie through his teeth to get his way. In other words, the worst possible kind of elected representative.
Thanks Independents!
