Bailing Out Big Media

Maybe not yet, but Obama is "happy to look at" the proposition.

In recent weeks Big Media has shown itself to be utterly incapable or totally unwilling to cover huge news events that don't fit their agenda. ACORN and the Van Jones incident were broken, researched, followed-up and ultimately concluded by amateurs on the internet. It took a veritable arm-twisting for the legacies to even pick their heads up from Obama cheerleading to even acknowledge the stories.

This is what Obama thinks is "absolutely critical to the health of our democracy"?

And can someone explain to me how the Freedom of Press is advanced by getting government involved at any stage in the process?

Of course not.

Obama and the Democrats are upset because there's alternative voices doing the very jobs legacy media hacks refuse to do, which usually leads to stories unflattering to their agendas and their friends. Taken as a whole, this Administration has proven itself to be extremely hostile to both Freedom of Press and Freedom of Speech.

Considering the FCC's back-door Fairness Doctrine, Attorney General Holder's openness to regulating internet speech and now Obama's willingness to entangle the federal government with the free press traditionally responsible for keeping it honest, it looks more and more like the Administration only considers friendly press to be vital to the health of their agenda, rather than to that of our republic.

Words and actions mean something Mr. President. Your lip service doesn't back up your willingness to trample the First Amendment.
