DeMint: 11 reasons why the Baucus Bill sucks too.
I admit to not listening intently to the numerous speakers on the Hill on 9/12, I was too busy mingling with a million of new friends.
But one guy I did stop to listen to was Jim DeMint. And he delivered.
Arguably the biggest reason folks went to the rally at all was a general disgust with politicians of both parties, who have so insulated themselves inside the Beltway that their cluelessness on how Americans think and feel has never been more palpable.
Jim DeMint lives inside that beltway too, but on 9/12 at least he got up on the podium and talked to us, not down to us. I appreciated that. He may have taken his name off the list of those to be (politically) beheaded in 2010.
His list is good as well. He's reading between the all-too-transparent lines and drawing rational conclusions based on what the clapping seals in Congress have said and on how reform has worked out in this country and around the world.
One way or the other dear readers, any bill that passes Congress and signed into law will ultimately lead to single-payer. There is no reasonable argument to the contrary so don't buy it when some twit on the subway tries to tell you otherwise.
