Ft. Hood Massacre
Good Lord. I could obviously send you anywhere for this story, but for a great timeline of events that shows just how much misinformation was floating around there throughout the day, HotAir is second to none.
Making sense of senseless events is an effort in futility as far as I'm concerned, but there are lessons to be learned here in the early aftermath.
First of all, news this morning seems to support the theory that this was at least in part motivated by Hasan's religious views. Do non-jihadis shout "Allahu Akbar" before they open fire in close quarters and kill a dozen people? I don' know, but it doesn't seem likely.
Second, this atrocity is laying bare once again just how far the legacy media will go to spin away any mention of Hasan's religious affiliation. As Allah noted, the medias storyline for this killing spree is "post-traumatic stress disorder" (PTSD). PTSD? From a guy who has never been deployed in a combat zone? A psychiatrist, who has never been deployed? That's a stretch even for MSNBC.
Finally, the myriad and often contradictory statements from witnesses and from people who knew Hasan regarding his feelings toward the Army, our Middle East conflicts and Islam, illustrate for me the principle in the Koran regarding a Muslim's duty to lie and deceive his neighbors about his true beliefs and/or intentions for jihad. The practice is called "Taqiyya" and you can read about it here and here.
I'll be honest with you, I knew this was jihad as soon as I heard the guy's name. I, unlike the TSA and most of our law enforcement, can profile criminals, by religion or otherwise. This had nothing to do with PTSD or anything else. Hasan had been boiling for a long time over the Wars and once he found out he'd be deployed, decided to change those orders by raining down a hail of gunfire and taking out as many infidels as possible.
That's it. That's why it happened.
From thats-right.com contributor Justice McNamara:
Allow me to cut through the bullshit. It's not like this guy is some trained terrorist. He is a Muslim who is pissed off at the US. And this is how he got his revenge. No motive? Really? Are we stupid? The motive dummies....is that he shot Soldiers. Thats the motive. Do you really need to ask yourself why he did that? This is a murder-suicide. Either he was going to shoot himself or he was going to get shot, and apparently it was a woman who shot him. But this is how these crimes occur. What was Columbine..and V.Tech...someone went into a room and started shooting. Exactly like V.Tech, this guy walked into a room with two pistols and started shooting people. They dont expect to get out alive. Look at it from a law enforcement perspective and the motive....is.....clear.
While we know now that the guy actually survived the return fire, J.M. is right. The motive is that he is pissed off at the U.S. and his deployment orders sent him over.
This isn't complicated folks. Don't buy the PTSD meme for a hot second because it's farcical on its face.
This is just another home-grown jihadist who murdered a dozen U.S. soldiers because of his religious fervor.
Thats-right.com wishes to offer our most sincere condolences to the families of those murdered at Ft. Hood.
May the road rise to meet them...
