"Take THAT Moon!"

Ha.

I guess we're looking for ice or something on the moon, or something.

Looks like we're not gonna get any crazy video either. 

I for one am all about space exploration; I think it's in our destiny at some point in the distant future to get off this planet and colonize others.

But crashing two, not one but two spaceships into the moon to look for hidden ice just seems like a colossal waste of money. I saw an unofficial cost estimate of $583 million, which in all honesty is actually quite low for NASA.

But, then again, until we're told that they found little green spacemen under the surface or the cure for the common cold, it was a half a billion down the crapper for no reason.

From space exploration to cash for clunkers, government never misses an opportunity to waste money.
