Hey, who's up for Hezbollah Jr.?

Obama and the administration brain trust apparently.

For some good commentary on this, read Allah's take on it from yesterday as well.

This is such a bewilderingly stupid 'strategy' I can't even make heads or tails of it.

Let's a) lie about Al-Queda and the Taliban's relationship and, b) cede portions of Afghanistan to them in order to increase the peace.

See how that goes? Done wonders in Lebanon so far hasn't it.

The most important aspect of this to me is that the Taliban and Al-Queda both operate from a baseline of religious fanaticism. They are loyal to nobody other than Allah, (the god, not the pundit), and take their cues entirely from the Koran. Give them land or don't, it makes no difference in their minds as to who the enemy is and what they need to do about it.

In fact, doing so would only strengthen their resolve and operational abilities. They get to put together a flyer for new recruits that says, "Hey, the Great Satan has acknowledged that we run this place. Join us now for cookies and IED's and live forever in heaven with virgins!"

And since Nobel Prizes are in the news today, didn't Arafat get one? This strategy has been tried before with predictable and horrible results. There is nothing different about this situation that could lead to any other result but more bombs, more death and very likely a civil war in Afghanistan.

Is Ahmadinejad up for the Nobel next year?

Russ
