So I was right, Nobel Prizes do grow on trees.

Yasser Arafat, Paul Krugman, Jimmy Carter, Al Gore and Barack Obama.

What do these nimrods have in common?

They are all dumb as a box of rocks, have all accomplished precisely nothing and have received the Nobel Prize.

I'm gonna start a campaign to have General Mills start giving out Nobel Prizes in boxes of Cheerios, because the real prize isn't worth much more than a fifty-cent piece of plastic that's been swimming in processed oat bran for three weeks.

This is such a joke it's almost not funny. The Taliban seems less than ecstatic at the selection:

The Taliban Friday condemned Barack Obama's Nobel Peace Prize, saying rather than bring peace to Afghanistan he had boosted troop numbers and continued the aggressive policies of his predecessor.

"We have seen no change in his strategy for peace. He has done nothing for peace in Afghanistan," Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told AFP.

"We condemn the award of the Nobel Peace Prize for Obama," he said by telephone from an undisclosed location.

"When Obama was elected president, we were hopeful he would keep his promise to bring change. But he brought no change, he has continued the same old strategy as (President George W.) Bush. 

Will this complicate Obama's Nobel-Prize winning unstrategy in Afghanistan? Oh the horror.

The Washington Times gets the money quote:

"We trust that this award will strengthen his commitment, as the leader of the most powerful nation in the world, to continue promoting peace and the eradication of poverty," the [Nelson Mandela] foundation said.

That's it. They're awarding this Nobel Prize to goad Obama into being the peace-maker everybody "hopes" he will be. Everybody in this case meaning European socialists. 

It's the "here's a cookie if you be a good boy" school. They'll pad his resume' in the hopes that he'll do stuff in the future.

Unbelievable.
